Today we celebrate another farmdoc daily milestone. Friday’s post was the 500th since we started publishing in March 2011. We are actually slightly ahead of our long-standing goal of providing one post each day based on original analysis and writing. And what an amazing array of topics that have been covered. Consider just the five posts last week:

This diversity of topics is one of the real strengths of farmdoc daily and it provides agricultural decision-makers with a breadth of information and analysis that truly cannot be found anywhere else. We continue to be grateful for the great response to this still relatively new undertaking.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the hard work and dedication of a remarkable team of contributors. This team includes Paul Ellinger, Bryan Endres, Darrel Good, Gary Hoff, Scott Irwin, Nick Paulson, Paul Peterson, Gary Schnitkey, and Bruce Sherrick of the Department of Agricultural and Consumer Economics and Dwight Raab, state co-ordinator of the Illinois Farm Business Farm Management Association and extension specialist in the Department of Agricultural and Consumer Economics. We are also fortunate to have Chris Hurt, a professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Purdue University, and Carl Zulauf, a professor in the Department of Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics at The Ohio State University, as regular contributors. And none of what you see at farmdoc daily would be possible without the incredible talents of our project manager, Mark Althouse.

We continue to look for ways to improve upon the existing site and content. The site is now fully integrated with Facebook and Twitter (242 followers and counting). In the near future look for improved tools for navigating through our library of articles.

Your feedback and comments are always appreciated.
